The image below applies to Microsoft Office 2013 and newer, even though they are pushing their 365 subscriptions. Unfortunately, Microsoft made changes beginning with Office 2013, where only the last five digits of the product key get stored on your PC. Each one has specific methods for installation and reinstallation, as well as how the product key gets stored and used. There are four types of Microsoft Office software: Retail, Subscription, Volume, and OEM. It’s difficult to find, so you might be panicking while trying to remember the lost activation code.

I am wondering is it possible to extract Office 2007 from the DVD's? Am I correct in thinking that Office 2007 is somewhwere in those files. I looked in the DVD's and the most of ther files are named 'base' then a number and the extension 'wim' ( if that means anything to you). I followed the instructions from HP to do so. I also found a set of four DVD's (recovery discs) which I had made some years ago while Windows 7 was my OS. He gave me the link to try myself to download Office 2007 and then use my key to activate. I then contacted Microsoft told me it was a valid key and and he tried to download Office unto my computer but he could not succeed (file not found was the response). I now have an update to my problem.Īfter some searching I found the product key for MS Office 2007. My Thanks to WAWood for replying to my earlier query.
